Friday was my 28th birthday and my mom had been in town all week. Shortly before these photos, I had dropped her back off at the airport. So yeah, I do look pretty great for having bawled my eyes out.
I love this jacket to pieces (see how I last wore it here and here) but it’s so darn wrinkly. I’m not one to pull out the ironing board often, I’m more behind the school of “toss it in the dryer and hope for the best” but perhaps this jacket needs a little more lovin’ than that.
So, what did my husband get me for my birthday? Oh a truck.
It’s not quite like THAT however. It’s more like, he got a new truck and passed his problem on to me. I guess this is better than the beat up ‘rango. I guess.

I happened upon this pretty little lakeside spot last weekend while I was trying to find a yoga class. A place like this is almost non-existent in California, it would be swarming with people at all times. People trying to feed the ducks, exercise and generally be close to nature.
Here, it’s abandoned and crawling with feral cats. How exciting for me though, I can take my gratuitous pictures without anyone giving me a strange look.
It finally rained here and I was so excited to dig out my wellies and trample around in the mud. These are one of the best purchases I have made. They’re so cute and practical. My next pair of rain boots will be Hunters again, the shape of the boot and the lining is just paramount compared to others.
I had a friend ask if my toes got cold in them, because her’s did inside her Target rain boots. I thought about it and realized that even without socks, they did not. I couldn’t describe why until I got home and inspected the lining. It appears to be the same stuff wetsuits are made of, neoprene maybe? I don’t know. I don’t surf.
Moral of the story, my boots are cute.

I almost kept this post from seeing the light of day. When taking your photograph everyday, you can clearly see what works and what doesn’t work. To be fair, I wore this top with black skinny jeans for most of the day until it got a bit too warm. Either way, I don’t think this top is very flattering after all. I’m a bit disappointed because it’s incredibly comfortable. I think I’ll try to remix within my wardrobe later this winter.
The reason my shoes are so dirty — that’s not just dead grass and dirt I’m frolicking around in, it’s practically a sink hole.
