Life in Oklahoma: The Winds

In Oklahoma, there are no “good hair days” — instead you have “stringy hair days” “disheveled hair days” and my favorite “it looks good because I haven’t been outside yet hair days” and as you can see, it gets a little crazy out there on the plains.
This particular day happened last month while I was out on my husband’s job site in far Western Oklahoma. Apparently it’s common for a violent storm to blow in and back out in an hour flat. Being a bit on the green side to all this weather, I was mildly fascinated with the sheer power of the storm, the 60mph gusts and bitter cold. Stay tuned, as storm season approaches next month and you’ll likely hear me babble on about tornadoes and softball sized hail. In the city I doubt I’ll see much action, but I manage my husband out here on the plains most weekends, so expect some amateur storm chasing on my part.
