January 8th 2012

I’ve been aching to be a part of another Bloggers Do It Better link-up and so when Kristina posted the next challenge as “SEQUINS” I was at first excited, then a bit down-trodden — (Who says that? I say that.) — as I actually do not have a single sequined piece in my entire wardrobe. I know, my jaw theoretically hit the floor too.

I think the reason for this is that I find sequins very “in your face” and “look at me I’m in Vegas”. Do you get what I mean? I’m none of those things on a daily basis, therefore owning a sequined piece was unnecessary. When I spotted this sweater at Express, I knew it was a sequin I could get down with. The color is amazing, but the gentle spattering of bling makes it wearable for both day and night. A chunky knit is always a good way to cozy-fy (it’s a word now, okay?) a typically nightclub trend.

The sword ring is seriously dangerous. I almost gouged the puppy twice before I removed it and vowed to only wear it for show (read: for photoshoots.) but it’s cool none the less. Almost as cool as clip-in fluffy feather extensions and a bracelet made of pennies. I know I’m ridiculous, let’s just embrace it.
