January 3rd 2012

(please forgive my goofball face in the first picture, people were watching our little session and it sorta freaked me out.)

After spending Monday with Jerry’s family in Bakersfield, we headed East Tuesday towards Flagstaff via Interstate 40. I have never traveled further than Bakersfield — except due South to Los Angeles — so venturing into this part of the country on a road trip was completely exciting. The desert was beautiful, and though I think my husband didn’t quite have the same sentient, we had a great time listening to music and talking.

For this leg of the trip, we covered the cat’s crate with a thick blanket to block her vision and the light. It calmed her instantly and the best part: it didn’t require me to risk my precious fingers again shoving a tranquilizer down her throat. Thanks to Dina — the hostess with the most-est — for the great suggestion!

I wanted to say thank-you for all the love yesterday. Between the @reply tweets, blog comments, emails, text messages, Instagram ♥’s & Facebook comments — let’s just say I feel so grateful to have you all with me during this time and with this move.

I also want to give a big old HEY’ALL to my newest Oklahoma readers and now all the girls that I’ll see in March for the Texas Style Council! Yes, I’m attending!

hellooooo wrinkled sweater! eh. whatevs. <— yes I just typed that.  :|
