Haul: Come Ogle My Christmas Loot

Yesterday I asked if you wanted a quick “haul” post featuring some of the items I got for Christmas, I was aiming to determine if such a post would seem either gratuitous or interesting. I’ll take the general silence over the issue as a declaration of interest.

By no means am I trying to show off or put off anyone. Sometimes I dislike revealing to the entire internet what I have in my closet because I feel a bit like I’m over sharing how fortunate I am to even own more than one pair of shoes, let alone 53. Yes, that’s a real figure.

So please, take my Christmas presents with a grain of salt and know that I am only revealing this because I myself love to see what other people get for Christmas. I like to share in my excitement and I know most of you feel the same way.

  1. Nixon “Spur” Watch in Rosegold
  2. Sorel “Joan of Artic” snowboots in Hawk
  3. Miss Dior Cherie Eau De Parfum 1.7oz
  4. Sam Edelman “Roza” Pump in Black Velvet
  5. Pour La Victoire Grommet Satchel (sold out on Gilt.com)
  6. TOMS Eyewear Aviators in Classic 301

Funny story about the purse — I bought it for my little sister for Christmas during a Gilt post-Thanksgiving flash sale. I was sure she would love it to pieces, I mean, I sure did. It arrived and I almost kept it for myself it was that fantastic. Christmas morning comes, she opens it and as her face fell I knew then and there — we can’t possibly be related.

After eyeing my watch all morning, she finally gave in to my pestering about whether she truly liked the bag or not. She didn’t. It took me about 5 seconds to empty her stuff out of it and snatch it back from her. I then offered her a watch like mine instead. She picked out the most amazing black octagon faced Nixon and it’s currently on it’s way here. In the end, we both got what we wanted.

And isn’t that what Christmas is all about kids?

(—totally kidding.)                                     perhaps.
