December 25th 2011 (Christmas Day)

Clearly I was spoiled for Christmas. I wasn’t expecting my husband to get me anything actually, let alone a watch I had secretly been eyeing for months. I hadn’t spoken to a soul about wanting a Nixon, I just silently coveted them from afar. He got lucky actually, wandered into a store that sold them, stared at them for a split second and decided this one looked like me. He was completely spot on. I was so darn shocked when I opened the box I’m positive my jaw hit the floor (after I stopped laughing at the gift tag: “To Babe, Love: Big Papa”).

My husband reads the blog from his iPhone, and the other day he took one look at my most recent outfit post and made a face. Then he snubbed me in the most unfortunate way. Quite flatly he remarked, “I’m really getting sick of seeing pictures of your darn gold watch.”

Panic struck me. If he is tired of seeing it, then I was sure readers were ready to submit me to GOMI and be done with it. So, while visions of a fresh post featuring some spiffy new watches for you lady cats to opinionate over danced in my head, he was plotting and scheming. I never thought he’d get me one on his own, without a suggestion of color and brand. He did good eh?

The TOMS aviators were another surprise as well. They weren’t as unexpected, after my much loved gold reflective Ray-Bans went missing in Oklahoma last month. On top of it, I crunched my Marc Jacobs aviators in the car accident a week later. These are not only adorable, but they follow the TOMS ethics — the purchase of a pair help give sight to a person in need.

Would you like me to post more of my Christmas loot tomorrow with links, or is that considered irritating and unnecessary? Please sound off in the comments below!
